Thank you for your interest in No Theme 2019! It’s our SIX year anniversary we can hardly believe it! What was once a slimy baby is now a wobbly toddler, all thanks to artists and supporters like you. If you would like to be part of the No Theme dream, please read about us and fill out the submission form by July 1st, 2019.

No Theme is an annual performance festival in the Hudson Valley that breaks the mold by presenting cross-disciplinary work in a uniquely intimate performance experience. Five years and counting, Cocoon Theatre has presented this rough and tumble weekend in the beautiful Cunneen-Hackett Arts Center of Poughkeepsie, New York. No Theme is all about supporting emerging artists, experimentation and collaboration, and providing a platform to share in-process work. We love the weird, the ugly, the surprising, the revealing, and whatever else you are doing! One weekend a year, we present works of dance, theater, film, visual art, comedy, poetry, who knows what else -- all in one place. Each evening culminates in live music and shared food and drinks. Since 2014, we have seen our community expand, conversations with and between artists deepen, collaborations kick off, and local excitement grow. This year we take a soft hiatus from the Hudson Valley (I know—how dare we?!) for our mini NYC show full of exciting new things. It will be smaller and different, but we will be back upstate very soon!

We hope you join us this Labor Day: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1st, 2019 **somewhere in Brooklyn** (more details coming soon!)

We strongly believe artists deserve to be compensated for their work, and we are working hard to acquire funding in order to do that. Until that bright future dawns, Cocoon Theatre has graciously committed to provide accommodations for those who come from near and far, as well as hire a professional photographer for the event, at no cost to the artists. We do not charge a fee to participate. Last year, our artists who needed room at the inn spent their early mornings and late nights at a peaceful farmhouse with a lake, campfire, and plenty of private rooms. This year our *mini show* is one night only, thus we will not be offering accommodations. Photography still stands!
