In MemoriamWe are sorry to share with you that Jim Andrews passed away Sunday, June 14 at his family home in Arkansas. Cocoon has known Jim for over seven years, in a myriad of ways. He first introduced himself as an actor, accepting a role in “The Crucible” in 2002. He then joined as a volunteer and worked alongside Julia van Develder to transform the lobby into a fantasy world for a Holiday fundraiser. He brought his gorgeous daughter, Sophie, to classes (modern dance, improvisation) and workshops (“Silent Movie”). He, himself, took modern dance with Andres for two years. He became a Cocoon Friend making yearly donations. He became a Board Member serving as Treasurer. He most recently joined the cast of “The Cherry Orchard” for a lovely performance as Peter Trofimov. Personally, he was a friend to Marguerite & Andres, as well as neighbor, living next door to the San Millans in Barrytown for several years. A gathering in August will be planned. If you are interested in participating, or knowing further details, please contact us. Please enjoy some photos of Jim.
Cocoon wishes to acknowledge Esther Kiviat September 25, 1915-June 1, 2009.
Esther died peacefully in her sleep after an enjoyable day of watching birds. She was a dedicated Cocoon Friend -
making yearly donations, faithfully attending performances with Erik and Elaine, and sharing her unique points of view.
We will all miss her very much! Donations in memory of Esther are welcome at
